Charaka Samhita - Seasonal Routine (Ritucharya)
ॐSanskrit Text
तस्य शीतादिभिर्भावैः देहः संवर्धते ऋतुभिः।
✦English Translation
The body is influenced by seasonal changes. In winter (Hemanta), digestive fire is strongest - eat heavy, nourishing foods. In summer (Grishma), favor light, cooling foods and avoid excessive exertion. In monsoon (Varsha), digestion weakens - eat light, warm, and easily digestible foods. Adapting to seasons prevents disease.
