Charaka Samhita explains that when one takes food that is too sour, salty, pungent, or incompatible combinations, Pitta increases leading to burning sensation, heartburn, and sour eructation.
For Amlapitta, cooling foods are recommended: milk, ghee, coconut water, and pomegranate. Shatavari with milk is an excellent remedy.
