Charaka Samhita - Anxiety & Fear (Chittodvega)

मनोदोषे सत्त्वावजयः परं बलम्।

English Translation

For anxiety and panic: strengthen Sattva (mental clarity) through meditation, pranayama (especially Bhramari - humming bee breath), and calming herbs. Ashwagandha reduces cortisol, Brahmi calms racing thoughts, Jatamansi induces peace. Warm oil massage (especially feet and head) pacifies Vata which causes anxiety. Avoid caffeine, irregular routines, and excessive stimulation.
